  • March 05, 2012:On March 5th, the joint meeting of the 4th General Meeting of the Board of Supervisors and the 7th meeting of the Board of Directors was held.
    It approved the Activity Report and the Closing Account of the 4th Business Term. It also adopted some amendments to Articles of Incorporation and the rules and regulations.
    5 members; Fujio MITARAI (Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, Chairman & CEO, Canon Inc.), Shigemitsu MIKI (Supervisor, Senior Advisor, The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd.), Kenji MIYAHARA (Supervisor, Honorary Adviser, Sumitomo Corporation), Tomijiro MORITA (Supervisor, Senior Advisor, The Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company, Limited), Hideji SUGIYAMA (Supervisor, Deputy President, The Shoko Chukin Bank Ltd.), were reappointed as Supervisors.
    6 members; Toshihiko FUKUI (President, Former Governor of the Bank of Japan), Ryozo HAYASHI (Director and Special Advisor, Director, Meiji Institute for Global Affairs), Akinari HORII (Director and Special Advisor, Former Assistant Governor of the Bank of Japan (International Activities)), Teruhiko IKEDA (Director, Advisor, Mizuho Trust & Banking Co., Ltd.), Toshizo TANAKA (Senior Managing Director, Executive Vice President and CFO, Canon Inc.), and Tetsuo YUHARA (Director and Research Director, Project Professor, Department of Ocean Technology, Policy, and Environment, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo), were reappointed as Directors.

  • November 28, 2011:On November 21st, the joint meeting of the Extraordinary Meeting of the Board of Supervisors and the 6th meeting of the Board of Directors was held. It accepted the Progress Report of the 4th Business Term, and approved the Plan and the Budget of the 5th Business Term.
  • May 09, 2011:As of May 1st, Miyako SUDA (Former Members of the Policy Board, Bank of Japan) was appointed as a Special Advisor, and Kazumasa KUSAKA (Former Vice‐Minister for International Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry; Advisor, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation) was appointed as an Advisor.

  • December 09, 2010:On December 9th, the joint meeting of the Extraordinary Meeting of the Board of Supervisors and the 4th meeting of the Board of Directors was held. It accepted the Progress Report of the 3rd Business Term, and approved the Plan and the Budget of the 4th Business Term.
    Akinari Horii (Special Advisor) was appointed as a Director in addition to the then-current members.
  • September 03, 2010:The CIGS opened the new pages of "Research Areas & Themes" in its website.
  • July 01, 2010:As of July 1st, Akinari Horii (Former Assistant Governor, Bank of Japan) was appointed as a Special Advisor, and Fumio HAYASHI (Professor, Graduate School of International Corporate Strategy (ICS), Hitotsubashi University) was appointed as an Advisor in replacement of Hirotaka TAKEUCHI.
  • April 15, 2010:As of April 15th, Hiroshi YOSHIKAWA (Professor, Graduate School of Economics, The University of Tokyo) was appointed as an Advisor in addition to the then-current members.
