CIGS co-hosted a meeting with Mr. Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of Canada

On 1st February 2011, the Canon Institute for Global Studies and the Embassy of Canada to Japan co-hosted a luncheon with Mr. Mark J. Carney, Governor of the Bank of Canada at Club Kanto in Tokyo.

On 1st February 2011, the Canon Institute for Global Studies and the Embassy of Canada to Japan co-hosted a luncheon with Mr. Mark J. Carney, Governor of the Bank of Canada at Club Kanto in Tokyo. Some 20 executives from the financial and business community of Tokyo participated in discussions over lunch with Mr. Carney, following opening remarks by CIGS President Mr. Toshihiko Fukui and His Excellency Ambassador Jonathan T. Fried of Canada. The topics of the informal discussion included global economic developments and prospects; reform of the international monetary system; and financial regulatory reform and its implications for market competition and the global economy.
